Her writing contained many dramatic scenes that she soon wanted to realize visually. She began to make small, figurative paintings of these intense moments from her life and, eventually, from the lives of others. She would often start with a picture in a newspaper, book or magazine, sometimes her own or other people’s family photos. She refers to them as “interior landscapes.” She says, “I endeavor to reveal the dark side of beauty and the beautiful side of darkness.” |

These small realistic paintings are colorful and engaging. Each of them is like a book cover or an illustration of a story whose subject the viewers supply for themselves.
